Professional Since: Since 2006, I am playing all the local tournaments in my country and I started competing internationally last year 2011 with my Olympic Scholarship from Maldives.

When and where you began playing, and why this sport?
"Started in Maldives, my cousins were in national team in my country during their time. I was introduced to this sport by family. I was 8 years old. Since then I have been training with the national juniors and now national senior. Currently, I am the top player in Maldives.This sport is very different than other racket sports, because it's the fastest racket sport and requiring great movement and skills."

Your training regime?
"7 days a week, 11 sessions altogether. No off days. Physical sessions are on Thursday and Saturday."
Memorable sporting achievements?
"National Singles Champion (from 2005 to 2011). National Mixed Doubles Champion (from 2009 to 2011). Indian Ocean Island Games 2011, Singles bronze medalist and Men's Team Event bronze medalist for Maldives."

"National Awards for the medals I achieved at the Indian Ocean Island Games 2011."

"To get into the world's top 50 in Men's Singles - this will be a great achievement for a country like Maldives!"
